Who Is Mira Murati
Mira Murati is an Albanian-American engineer and executive who served as Chief Technology Officer of OpenAI before founding her own AI lab. With an engineering background spanning aerospace and Tesla, she joined OpenAI in 2018 and rose to oversee its core products and research engineering.

As OpenAI’s CTO, Murati led the development and deployment of ChatGPT, DALL·E, and the GPT model series — turning research breakthroughs into products used by hundreds of millions of people. She briefly served as interim CEO during the company’s leadership turmoil in late 2023.
